As we all know, babies change so much in that first year. Ashley Lynn Photography wants to make sure you can preserve those fleeting memories so you, and your family, can look back on them forever.
The Baby Plan Membership is completely customizable to fit your family’s specific needs. The most common grouping of sessions that clients book to document the milestones of their baby’s first year are:
- Maternity
- Newborn
- 6- 8 months Sitter
- First Birthday
All the sessions in a Membership Plan are what we call Luxury Sessions. These include hair, makeup and wardrobe for both mom and kiddos. I want to make these sessions as stress free as possible for moms, especially given what a rollercoaster it is to have young kids.

To help you decide which combination of sessions you’d like to book, I’m going to break down the four most common types: maternity, newborn, 6 months and 12 months. Let’s kick it off with the maternity photo shoot!
Maternity Photography Session:
I recommend booking your maternity shoot around the 6 to 8 month mark of your pregnancy. For most women, this is the sweet spot in your pregnancy where you have a noticeable baby bump, but you still have enough energy to stand and walk around for about 30 to 60 minutes. While some women will wait until their 9th month, it’s fairly common to feel more tired and worn out during that phase of your pregnancy. Not to mention, and I talk from experience, a lot of women tend to swell during those last couple of months and feel more physically uncomfortable. The maternity photo session can be just focused on you or you can invite your husband and/or other kids along as well. It’s the mother’s choice!
Newborn Photography Session:
Newborn photography sessions really need to be within the first 2 weeks after you give birth to your precious baby. Of course, if that needs to change due to your unique situation I can be totally flexible. Whether the baby comes a bit early or a bit later than planned, or if your hospital stay extends longer than anticipated. For the newborn shoot, I recommend we take these at the Noir Studio Space in Lebanon, Ohio. Not only is it a beautiful studio space, but there is a salon right downstairs for the mom’s hair and makeup to help her feel more put together for a photoshoot so soon after birth.

Now we’re going to dive into the later half of the photography sessions!
6 Months Photography Session:
Can you believe your little baby is 6 months old?! Part of the reason I love having continuous photo sessions with the same family is to see those little babies growing up. Now this 6 month photography session comes at the perfect time to document when your baby is just learning to sit up. Each baby hits milestones at different points, so again, this is a flexible photo shoot. Sometimes we choose to wait for this photoshoot until 7 or 8 months to ensure the baby is sitting up and crawling more so we can document this new stage of development at the perfect time for your child.
12 Months Photography Session:
Now onto maybe the most monumental of all these milestones: one year old! This 12 months photo session is the perfect way to celebrate your child’s first birthday. For all of my Baby Plan members, I provide a complimentary cake so we can get an iconic cake smash photo to celebrate this day. Occasionally we can even get a few shots of your baby starting to walk which is so exciting! Like the other sessions, you are able to choose who you want at the shoot. Have a location in mind?
