A Xenia, Ohio at Home Dog Family Session

Family sessions that take place at the family’s home are so much fun, and what makes them even better is when their dog is part of the family pictures too! #dogsarefamilytoo
Having a family session take place at the home makes the session even more personal and special. It also helps the kids (and dogs) feel more comfortable too. I immediately fell in love with their dog, Hazel. She was so funny and she has these crazy hairs that stand up on the top of her head. I told them I could totally take her home with me.

The evening started out with me locking my keys in my car, right before leaving for the session. It was very frustrating, but Katie was so understanding when I called to tell her what had happened. Luckily, my husband came straight home from work and saved the day, so I was only about 10 minutes late. Making this is the 1st time I’ve ever been late for a portrait session.

The William’s family is so sweet and I loved photographing their session. These are the first family pictures they’ve had taken in 10 years! Arlie and Katie showed me the Christmas tree they planted from their first Christmas as a family, so we had to have some photos taken with the tree in the background. I absolutely love this and might have to steal this idea! Then, Emma and Maggie both showed me some of their awesome gymnastic and trampoline jumping skills. Also, the day of the photo session was Maggie’s 10th birthday! So we ended the session with cupcakes and glitter.
We had a blast!
