Benham’s Grove family photos always turn out beautifully! This is one of my favorite Centerville spots for outdoor family portraits. The historic grounds and surroundings of nature create a stunning backdrop.
Today, we’re featuring a bright, summery photoshoot with the Paulus family.

Benham’s Grove Family Photos
I’ve been photographing the Paulus family for years, from the time their daughter Amelia was a baby. We first connected at the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival through client recommendations. Especially now, it’s important to note that word-of-mouth is the best form of PR for small businesses.
Just before sunset one-afternoon last summer, I met with the Paulus family for a photography session at Benham’s Grove in Centerville.
Ashley and Andy booked a full session, which gave us plenty of time to get comfortable together. Watching my clients’ families blossom has been one of the greatest joys of my career. The little ones grow up so fast!

Family Photos at Benham’s Grove
Benham’s Grove is a perfect location for family portraits, especially in the summer. Lots of greenery and open space means vibrant, playful photos.
This particular session really highlighted the family’s personalities. Amelia was full of energy. She loved playing with sticks, so some made it into the photos. By the end of the session, she was twirling and dancing around.
If you know me, you know I love to encourage kiddos to be active during photoshoots. It’s the best way for me to genuinely capture their personality.

Amelia and Ashley had some real fun playful shots. We found a corner filled with lots of bright pink flowers. They really popped against Amelia’s turquoise romper and enhanced the dreamy look of the day.

Golden Hour at Benham’s Grove
I love the warmth that golden hour gives the photos. On this particular afternoon, the lighting was truly magical. I know I’m not the only one who can’t wait for these long, sunny days!
xoxo, Ashley
