Shop With Local Small Business
Small businesses have been hit extremely hard during COVID-19. Many have had to adapt their retail capabilities, exploring more digital sales opportunities. Many have had to shut their doors. As a small business myself, supporting the local economy is very close to my heart.
This Holiday Season, consider supporting your local boutiques, artisans, and creatives by investing your dollars in local businesses. In Dayton, Centerville, Lebanon, and surrounding areas, we’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a vibrant local economy. Here are some of my favorite local small businesses:
Indie West Studios in Dayton
Searching for the perfect stocking stuffer? Indie West Studios in Dayton has wallets, candles, mugs, and accessories for everyone on your list. Plus, free shipping on online orders over $100.
Salon Noir Lebanon and Centerville
Need to refresh your look after a long time in quarantine, or craving an upgrade to your beauty cabinet? Salon Noir (home to our Lebanon Studio) has a team of beauty professionals that can tame your tresses, rejuvenate your skin, and the perfect products to help you maintain your look at home. Salon Noir even has their own professional skincare and haircare line (I love the Quench Conditioner for my curls!) Additionally, new guests can take 20% off their first service with participating service providers.

Lula Bell Whimsical Art & Stationery
Looking for a small business alternative to Hallmark? Lula Bell is the destination for original designs (by Artist Amy Gantt) that sparkle and delight. Private shopping is available, and Lula Bell provides free shipping on orders over $35. Plus, if you’re a member of Dorothy Lane Market, you can get an exclusive offer! Show your Club DLM card to receive a FREE Greeting Card with every purchase at Lula Bell.
Ashley’s Pastry Shop
There’s good reason this small business has been thriving in the Dayton-area for over three decades Ashley’s Pastry Shop sells some of the best confections in the area. Which by the way, have been loved by local celebrities for years. From cultural delights like baklava and challah to cronuts and cookies, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth. Support this family-owned small business this season for all the baked goods you’d need. We recommend getting there earlier in the day for the freshest variety.
1880 Candle Co. in Dayton
Using vintage, up-cycled glassware and other vessels, 1880 Candle Co. crafts totally unique candles with sustainability in mind. Their richly-fragrant candles are handcrafted with organic materials and essential oils.
Please note: The retail shop will remain closed through the end of 2020. However, the shop will be available for online orders that you may pick up in-store. For private shopping sessions, email 1880 Candle Co. at firstname.lastname@example.org. Posted hours online reflect pick-up times only.
Due to current precautions in place related to COVID-19, keep in mind hours, product availability, and in-store experiences may all be altered quite significantly. Please be kind to these small businesses and their employees, many of whom are relying on guests to be flexible during these unpredictable times.
