Displaying Photographs with a Dayton, Ohio Photographer

Okay, you have your new photographs from your family photo session with Ashley Lynn Photography, but now what? In this post I’m sharing my two favorite ways for displaying photographs in your home. Read along to learn more and check out this article for more advice on displaying family portraits!

Building a Gallery Wall

My favorite way to display photographs in a home is with a gallery wall. A gallery wall is a collection of framed prints hanging on a wall in a grouping that is both cohesive and pleasing to look at. When you book a session with me, I will design a custom gallery wall based on your specific home, making each wall custom to you! This is an amazing perk I offer all of my photography clients.

So, how does this work? First, you’ll share a photograph of your room and the empty wall you’re looking to display photos on. After you’re session I’ll create a mock gallery wall using your photo and you’ll be able to see the gallery wall to scale on your actual walls! Being able to show your images to scale will allow us to see how different sized prints will look on your walls.

In order to to this, and to make sure I show you appropriate sized frames for your wall, I’ll need you to follow the simple steps below when taking your photos.
Pro Tip: Taking photos during the day time always works best!

1. Tape a standard 8.5×11 inch sheet of printer paper horizontally on the desired wall.
2. Stand back and while holding your phone horizontally and as straight as you can, snap a photo. Showing some furniture and other objects in the room will help us to better visualize how it will look in your space. If taking the photo vertically is best, that’s fine too.
3. Send that photo over to me via email. Then I’ll be able to mock up gallery wall options to scale during your session’s ordering consult.

Displaying Framed Prints

All the framed prints offered by Ashley Lynn Photography are professional grade and heirloom quality. And like all of our products, they are also made right here in the USA.

When choosing to print from me directly, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of timeless and modern moulding options to perfectly frame your prints and capture the beauty of your images. For an added touch of elegance, all of the options have double white matting surrounding the photographs.

Each photographic print is an actual photograph, not an ink print. This means your images are burned into professional grade light sensitive paper. The photographs are coated in a protective lamination process for extra protection with a 100+ year lifespan. They also have glare resistant UV acrylic instead of standard glass. Frames also come ready to hang with a wire hanger and kraft paper on the back.
