Outdoor Family Portraits with the Moffet Family | Dayton Photographer

As a Dayton photographer, one of my favorite spots to capture client portraits is Wegerzyn Gardens. It is a perfect location for outdoor family portraits. Many of my clients select this location for their photos.

I photographed the Moffet Family at the gardens in April, when everything was in full bloom. Vibrant pink, purple, lilac, and indigo tones made this season so memorable. The gorgeous manicured landscape made the most beautiful backdrop for their outdoor session. Outdoor Family Photos at Wegerzyn Gardens

This photo session was special for the Moffet Family. Amanda, Matt, Travis, Chantelle, Cedric, and Florence had not had photos taken in a long time because they all live in different cities. Knowing they would all be in the same location for a family wedding this early April. Amanda found me through Google and reached out to me, because she wanted to get photos taken for her mother.

I love that my clients often use photography sessions as a family bonding experience. Getting to spend a day together as a family is something that lasts forever. When you’re not usually under one roof, it makes these moments all the more special for me to capture. Capturing your family’s memories brings me joy!

How A Dayton Photographer Brings Comfort to Kiddos

For some children, photography sessions can be a challenge. Fortunately, I have plenty of experience both as a mom and photographer for navigating these situations. Photographing families outdoors has a lot of advantages. An important one is that it allows more space for kiddos to get comfortable with having their photo taken. As they play and run, the time together feels more natural and less forced. I have a lot of tips for photographing children on this blog post here if you’re interested to learn more.

Three-year-old Florence took a little bit to warm up to getting her photo taken, unlike her six-year-old brother Cedric. He was a little ham and liked finding places for me to take his photo. He even climbed a tree! I was glad that Florence did eventually warm to me, and I even got some smiles from her. Family Portraits at Wegerzyn GardensFamily Portraits | Dayton PhotographerFamily Photographer | Dayton, Ohio
