For years, I have offered Miamisburg Ohio Family Photography. The Hedrick Family and I met years ago through a Google search. This year they needed a family photographer who could work with a large group, and who knew how to make it work in the time they had reserved.

A lot of family photographers refuse to take on large family portrait sessions. I actually love getting the opportunity to work with extended families. I know how special getting all your family together can be, especially if they live all across the country. Seeing families come together year after year, across miles, is so special!

When looking for the right location for your family portrait session around Miamisburg Ohio, it’s important to consider how many people will be attending, as well as accessibility needs, and even pet concerns. If you’re coming with a crowd, it’s always a great idea to consider an outdoor space like Cox Arboretum. This is one of my favorite venues for families of all sizes. There’s plenty of space, and gorgeous blooms all around.

The gardens were absolutely gorgeous with spring flowers. The colors really popped! All the ladies wore lovely floral prints and colors which I adore. I have never been one to shy away from bold colors or patterns in photos as long as it’s balanced out with some toned-down colors from other family members’ outfits.

Not everyone can get away with wearing a bold color. That’s why it’s nice to add some creams and neutrals in the mix too. If you’re looking for styling advice, I have a blog post all about coordinating your crowd!
