This featured bride incorporated old wedding traditions into her big day. As the rhyme goes, “wear something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence in her shoe.”
Adria added blue embellishments to her shoe, and didn’t forget the penny.

Romantic Wedding in Downtown Dayton, Ohio
As the couple got ready for their big day, their family and friends were close by to help get the details perfect. Adria selected dainty jewelry adorned with green stones, which were stunning and quite unique. Kyle’s mom and dad helped secure his bow tie and boutonniere. Their color palette was blush, burgundy, and ivory.
Even behind the scenes, you could tell how much love was put into their big day. Their wedding ceremony took place in the Great Hall of the Dayton Art Institute, with the reception to follow at The Gothic Cloister.
Blush, Burgundy, and Artistic Wedding at Dayton Art Institute
Amidst the backdrop of DAI with its gothic iron detailing and abstract paintings on display, the couple created a romantic wedding bursting with warm, inviting tones. I loved Adria’s bouquet, which featured her prime color palette with additional pops of peach, cream, and orange. It was stunning!
Dayton Art Institute’s Grand Hall
A regal stone staircase and molding throughout the building exuded pure elegance. The Grand Hall is certainly an appropriate name for this venue. Its spacious design made it a perfect size for the family, which was an absolute joy to spend the day around. The wedding florals brought a wonderful pop of color to the space, which was a pure, stark marbled ivory.Â
Adria & Kyle Share Their Perfect Day Together
I asked the lovely couple, what is your ideal day together? And here’s what they told me:
Sleeping in and getting a cup of coffee to take on a walk. Then going home and watching a movie then snuggling up to read books on the couch. After that, go out to eat at a local restaurant and sample local wines and beers. We love hiking, reading, family, animals, movies, coffee, and alcohol.
Reception in The Gothic Cloister
DAI’s Gothic Cloister was the perfect space for the reception. A glass atrium poured natural light into the room, which featured strings of light that twinkled in the evening. As the night drew to a close, the newlywed and their families made their way to the dance floor. The end of the night dancing was GREAT! So fun!
