I had such a fun time at this Oregon District downtown Dayton, Ohio engagement session with Olivia and Ryan! I’ve had many years to scope out beautiful photo locations in Dayton, Ohio, and one of my favorites is the Oregon District. With brick streets, unique architecture and charming homes, this historic downtown neighborhood is a great photo location year-round.

Historic Oregon District Engagement Session

For this spring engagement photoshoot, Olivia brought along a bottle of champagne to help celebrate the evening. This was a great idea, and not just because everyone loves to celebrate with a sip of something sparkling! First, popping the bottle of champagne gives the couple something to focus on while getting used to having me and the camera standing nearby. Second, the bottle and glasses are a fantastic prop! You can pour the champagne, clink your glasses and take a sip, all while not thinking about what to do with your hands during the shots.

Engagement Photoshoot in Dayton, Ohio

I first met Olivia during her senior year of high school when I took her senior photos. Now, not only did I get to take photos to celebrate Olivia and Ryan’s engagement, but I also have the honor of taking their 2024 wedding photos. There is nothing better than getting to know a client over a handful of years and seeing them grow up.
