Last October at the beautiful Wegerzyn Gardens, I met with longtime clients of mine, the Paulus Family, for their annual portrait update. It’s such a joy to see families, again and again, each year.
Reconnecting with the Paulus Family in Dayton, Ohio
I have been taking this family’s photos for a few years now. We first connected at the Popcorn Festival in Beavercreek, which has always been a great way for me to connect with new clients. Many of those clients, like this family, become regular clients of mine getting annual family photos taken.
One of my most memorable photoshoots with the Paulus Family was this heartwarming Veteran’s Day Homecoming Session in 2018. Aven was just a little baby and was meeting Dad Andy for the first time.
Growing Up in Front of the Camera
Now 3 and 5, Aven and big sister Amelia are keeping mom and dad busy. Ashley and Andy clearly have so much love for their children, who are sweet, kind, fun, and so expressive. During the session, the kiddos loved roaming around the gardens, playing on trees, and walking the paths.
By the end of the family session, the kiddos were hamming it up! It’s great to give children the freedom to be themselves during sessions so we can get great photos like these. Having been a Dayton, Ohio photographer for years, I have gathered great tips for stress-free family sessions in this blog post here.
Dayton Ohio Photogrpaher Bringing Memories to Life
Family photo sessions give your littles the chance to connect with you in moments that get frozen in time. Afterward, hanging prints and sharing the final images with them deeply impact them in a positive way. Children who grow up seeing themselves and their family celebrated in this way grow up more confident and secure. Capturing these opportune moments keeps me feeling inspired.
