This senior session has a special place in my heart since today’s featured subject is my husband’s younger cousin Isaac. We took these photos in Miamisburg, Ohio last Fall at Cox Arboretum. This is one of my favorite places to capture portraits for families, seniors, and couples.
Senior Portraits in Miamisburg, Ohio
I think outdoor locations offer the most versatility for senior photos. Especially during the Fall and Summer, nature’s foliage and the sun create an interesting and beautiful backdrop. Best of all, there’s plenty of space to move around and get comfortable. Like many young guys I’ve worked with during portrait sessions, Isaac was hesitant at first to have his photo taken.
His dad asked if I would talk to him, and I explained we would just keep it casual and laid back. After all was said and done, I’m so happy he agreed to do the session. I think he is too.
Outdoor Senior Photos in Miamisburg
I recommend that the seniors bring with them a few different layers like jackets, hoodies, sweaters, cardigans, etc. so they can add in an outfit “change” during their session without having changed.
Miamisburg, Ohio weather can be unpredictable. As it gets colder and wetter during the year, we may have to consider how it’ll impact the session. Usually, Fall is quite popular. If the session is outdoors, it’s always a good idea to bring a change of clothes and shoes just in case. When it comes to selecting backup looks, keep it simple. I have a guide for what to wear in photos in this blog here.
Capturing a Lifetime of Memories in Miamisburg
Being a Miamisburg, Ohio Photographer, I have photographed a lot of senior sessions. It’s always nice to meet with the younger crowd and see what their plans are for the future. I remember when Isaac was just a toddler — which funny enough was right around the time I graduated with my photography degree. In this memory, I was taking photos of him running around mamaw and papaw’s garden.
Before I knew it, we were out photographing his senior portraits.
I’d like to wish Isaac the best of luck as he approaches his graduation this Spring! Which of these photos is your favorite? Let’s surprise Isaac with a print if he gets 15 or more comments.
